Retained Search
Fees and Methodology
Working on a retained basis means Sinclair Wright will charge an upfront fee of a third of the projected fee of the overall assignment. This is based on 25% of the first annual salary of the successful candidate. to conduct a search. We will operate on an exclusive basis, meaning the job will only be filled through our recruitment company. Our consultants work very closely with the client and will dedicate all their resources to conduct a thorough search and use an agreed methodology to find the best candidate for the role.

The process is usually rigorous with a shortlist of anything from three to five vetted candidates being presented before interviews commence, depending on the client’s preference. The consultant will be able to present candidates with the ideal skills, experience and remuneration bracket. The client’s feedback is implemented throughout the process and the recruitment consultant will give relevant background information and explain the vision of the predicted cultural match as well as give an assessment of the candidates’ experience and career development plan.
THE PROCESS
TARGET LIST
Together with the client we will identify 30 target companies where we will ideally recruit from. In the process we will discuss which corporations may be off limits to protect business relationships.
IDENTIFYING AND PROFILING
During this stage, the research team will conduct a market mapping exercise where they will network and get a thorough and updated overview of the potential candidates in the agreed target companies.
APPROACHING CANDIDATES
Together with the client, the consultant will review and present the identified candidates and agree which ones should be approached, ensuring anyone who has been previously interviewed is excluded.
INTERVIEWING STAGE
The consultant will approach and interview the candidates and will produce a short list to be presented to the client. The client will commence the interviewing rounds with the preselected candidates.
